Sadly I have to miss the ICFF this year in NYC because I’m headed to China next week. But luckily there was another great option to go to the BKLYN Designs event. It was definitely an interesting event on a smaller scale than the ICFF.
We started the weekend off with a visit to the Navy Yard in Brooklyn. First stop was an awesome letterpress shop walled Woodside Press. The owner showed us all the equipment including a working Linotype machine - amazing! We also visited SITU Fabrication who produce art and architectural installations. After the tours we spent time at the Brooklyn Expo Center in Greenpoint.
On day 2 we spent the day at the Wanted Design event at Industry City in Brooklyn. The site is a hotbed for collaborative thinkers, designers, and artists. Saw some interesting student projects and other products.
