Last weekend I went to the Architecture and Design Film Festival in Tribeca. I went to 4 films and really loved all of them. The first film was from a 3D series called Cathedrals of Culture. The film was directed by Robert Redford and was about the Salk Institute near San Diego. We also saw a second film from the series about the Oslo Opera House in Norway.

My favorite film was called ‘Why a Film About Michele De Lucchi.’ I’ve always loved the Tolomeo lamp but didn’t know much about Michele. He’s really an interesting guy who’s had an amazing career in architecture and design.

The last film we saw was called ‘Who Dares Wins: Zaha Hadid’ and was a fascinating profile of the Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid.
